Since Starlight opened in 1995, we have increased our Competitive Team members many times over. Using the USAG Competition levels (6-10) and (Xcel Bronze-Platinum), our athletes compete in and out of the state of Florida. We are very proud to have our talented Team members representing us in State, Regional and National competitions. Our Programs

We offer two distinct competitive programs each designed to cater to the unique needs and goals of each athlete.

Xcel Program

Bronze-Platinum

XCEL is a USA Gymnastics competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of XCEL is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience.

USAG Development Program

Levels 6-10

The Development program (DP) through USA gymnastics was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The DP program allows the gymnast to develop toward a high competition level.

Team TRyouts

Our annual team tryouts will take place on Friday March 21, 2025 at 7:00 pm. All gymnasts ages 5 - 12 may try out for a spot on our competitive team. The gymnasts will be tested on their physical abilities (strength, flexibility, and speed) and their knowledge of basic gymnastic skills. The cost for the team tryouts is $20. The gymnast must be registered prior to the tryout time.

Team Tryout Clinics

This clinic is an opportunity to learn and practice the physical abilities and basic gymnastics skills needed to try out for a spot on our competitive team. Gymnasts may choose to do one or all clinics. They will be offered weekly during the months of January, February, and March on Fridays at 4:00pm. The cost for each clinic is $20. The gymnast must be registered prior to the clinic.
